The Opportunity
As a Senior Talent Acquisition Partner for Software Engineering, you'll be a driving force behind Yoco's ability to hire high-performing Engineering talent, navigating the challenges of a competitive market with both agility and creativity. Reporting to the Head of TA, you'll take ownership of the entire hiring process within the Engineering Group. You'll ensure delivery against deadlines whilst keeping the hiring teams informed and on track. You'll continuously build and nurture a pipeline of candidates, and adapt to changes, such as refining sourcing strategies or adjusting interview panels to meet shifting priorities.
You'll need to be resourceful and adopt simplicity in your execution—knowing when to pivot, how to leverage networks, and bring fresh ideas for attracting niche talent. Your deep understanding of the Software Engineering hiring landscape will help you advise hiring managers, utilising data and market insights to drive decision-making. And your knowledge of tech and engineering, as well as an established network, will be essential to engage candidates proactively and creatively.

What You Will Be Doing
You will embed yourself into the teams you are hiring for, partnering closely with functional leadership and business partners to deliver on our talent strategy, understanding our hiring needs and talent challenges.Create and deliver on talent attraction strategies and hiring processes, which includes sourcing, candidate events, utilising tools such as our ATS, headcount planning, and managing both candidate and hiring manager experience.Act as the talent acquisition SME for your group which includes proactive engagement with hiring managers around their future talent needs, utilising mechanisms like talent blueprinting and succession planning.Utilise data and insights to make informed decisions for TA and hiring teams.Ensure that Yoco's talent profile is authentically reflected in candidate communication, employer branding initiatives, and our approach to interviews and assessments.Proactively seek opportunities to improve TA capabilities, as well as manage and contribute to projects across the People team. About You You have at least 7 years experience hiring for tech talent in South Africa, of which the majority has been in-house recruitment with a focus on Software Engineers.Experience hiring in European markets, such as the Netherlands, would be an advantage.You are a headhunter and have a passion for actively and creatively sourcing the best talent.You are consultative, strategic and collaborate well with tech stakeholders, with experience building successful partnerships.You are a thought leader that can drive decisions supported by data and have the ability to think deeply.You have strong leadership skills with the ability to guide, mentor and influence others.You take a positive, proactive and creative approach to problem solving, with a strong ability for creating fair but balanced solutions for the business and TA team.You are self-directed, willing to experiment and not afraid to fail.Experience in a FinTech, B2C or Product-led scale-up organisations would be an advantage.
