Senior Supply Chain Consultant/Transport Economist (Business Consulting Services) Position status: Permanent and office based. Form part of this well-established business and engineering consultancy firm who has an exciting opportunity available for an experienced Senior Supply Chain Consultant/Transport Economist. The firm specialises in Consulting and System Development within various industries such as International Trade and Transit Facilitation, Customs, Transport Regulation, Traffic Law Enforcement, 3rd Party Vehicle Insurance and Supply Chain. Position Overview: The successful candidate will form part of a Consulting Team to manage and deliver consultancy projects.
The Senior Supply Chain Consultant/Transport Economist will work independently and within a team to implement projects, lead and supervise junior consultants.
The scope of project work includes requirement elicitation, re-engineer / re-think the status quo, concept development, requirements specifications for reforms to be implemented for the regulatory, standard, operational and system frameworks and report writing as required by the project.
Additionally, the selected candidate is also to assist with drafting bid proposals when required.
To be considered for this position, one must have: A completed Bachelor of Commerce Degree (B. Com) with specialisation in Supply Chain Management and/or Economic Science (with focal area of Transport Economics).A minimum of 5 to 10 years of relevant and related experience in supply chain planning, management and regulatory compliance for international exports and/or imports.Proficiency in the advance features of MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Visio.Working with consulting teams and/ or managing Junior Consultants.Project management and execution.Applying analytical and conceptual skills in project delivery.Report writing, i.e. project inception, progress, technical and final project delivery reports.Project presentations and facilitation of meetings and / or workshops.Experience or Knowledge of the Following: Protocols and compliance requirements as applicable to Sea Ports (harbours) and Land Ports (airports and land borders including One Stop Border Posts) as well as Bonded Warehouses (Customs Warehouses).Technical and/or working knowledge of Customs Management Systemsg.
