Senior Substation Engineer

Are you a skilled engineer with expertise in substation design and power utilities? Were looking for a Senior Substation Engineer to join one of our clients, leading critical projects in the power sector. In this role, youll design, manage, and optimize high-voltage substations, ensuring reliable and efficient energy distribution. Requirements: · ECSA registration as a Professional Engineer or Professional Engineering Technologist. · 7 to 10 years post qualification technical experience in HV power transmission and distribution infrastructure in the power utility or renewable energy sector. · Experience in power utility industry (Eskom experience is essential). Responsibilities: · Planning and design of HV power transmission and distribution infrastructure from 33kV up to 765kV. · Responsible for handling multiple projects and prepare and provide guidance in the development of the engineering deliverables for electrical substation projects including layouts and drawings, selection of substation equipment, equipment and construction specifications and all associated electrical calculations and studies. · Perform the necessary calculations and studies including power systems studies on utility and industrial/commercial power transmission and distribution systems. · Development of project design documentation, technical specifications, perform concept and/or detail design layouts, and providing a detail design package that complies with applicable local, international and client specifications and standards. · Engage with other project stakeholders and team members and coordinate overall design packages and requirements.
