OverviewWe are seeking a semi-retired professional with a robust background in Quantity Surveying or Civil Engineering to help elevate our construction company to a corporate level and lead the creation of a new plumbing division. This pivotal role requires an individual with extensive experience in public infrastructure projects within the Western Cape, a strategic vision for growth, and a willingness to engage in an equity-sharing arrangement.
Key ResponsibilitiesSpearhead corporate growth initiatives and establish a new plumbing division.Provide strategic oversight and ensure compliance with NEC4, JBCC, and other contractual frameworks.Manage risk, compliance, and project-specific requirements across all stages.Oversee project planning and reporting, with a strong focus on cash flow projections.Leverage expertise in MS Projects to track and manage project timelines.Collaborate on high-stakes public infrastructure projects to align with the company's long-term growth goals.QualificationsBachelor's degree in Quantity Surveying, Civil Engineering, or a related field.Cost Control, Cost Management, and Cost Reporting expertise.Experience in Bills of Quantities (BOQ) preparation and Cost Planning.Strong analytical and numerical skills with high attention to detail and accuracy.Excellent written and verbal communication skills.Experience RequirementsGeneral Building and Civil Experience: Minimum of 3 years.Management Experience: Minimum of 1 year preferred.Government/State Project Experience: Experience on projects valued above R10 million is ideal.Must-Have SkillsProven ability to work with Microsoft Projects.In-depth knowledge of NEC4 and JBCC contract frameworks.Experience in cash flow projections and financial planning.Additional InformationThis role is perfect for a semi-retired professional looking to make a significant impact in a growing construction company while enjoying a flexible work arrangement.
