Senior Specialist Data and Analytics - Gauteng, PretoriaThe purpose of this role is to lead the data and analytics (D&A) capability for the organization, which includes the creation and management of data and analytics strategy and the execution of related programs and practices that drive measurable business outcomes. The Senior Specialist: Data & Analytics is responsible for establishing, leading, and operating the D&A function, including fostering a data management culture within the organization.Main Responsibilities (not limited to):Ensure that the organization's D&A assets are deployed to drive value across various departments of the business.Interpret, relate, and communicate the organization's strategy and align it with architectural decisions and the future D&A architecture.Collaborate with departments to foster a D&A culture by establishing and maintaining a solid foundation for enterprise data management, ensuring that data is organized, accessible, secure, and utilized in line with established governance principles.Provide leadership in business change initiatives aimed at delivering organization-wide value through the exploitation of vast data repositories.Lead and oversee cross-functional teams in executing data and analytics programs and projects.Build D&A-related competencies and data literacy across the business, with strong integration with various departments.Establish data management and analytics governance covering critical practices in master data, data quality, data stewardship, data security/access, and/or other compliance/regulatory best practices.Provide technological leadership regarding the latest trends in the D&A field and how these can be exploited to drive business benefits.The Preferred Candidate is likely to have:Relevant B Degree or IT-related tertiary qualification.Data management and technology certifications (e.g., PowerBI/Tableau, Azure/AWS product suites).A minimum of 7 years of experience in enterprise data management design and implementation of data and analytics concepts, methods, and techniques, preferably in a production business environment.
