This role involves working alongside the Head Chef to manage daily kitchen activities, ensuring top-notch food quality and freshness. Key Responsibilities: Leadership: Manage and lead kitchen staff in the absence of the Head Chef. Guidance: Mentor junior kitchen staff in line cooking, food preparation, and dish plating. Organisation: Oversee kitchen stock and ingredients, ensuring quality assurance and proper food rotation. Preparation: Keep cooking stations stocked during peak hours. Training: Train and assess staff on the job. Management: Handle food and product ordering, minimise waste, and manage budgetary concerns. Supervision: Ensure all food preparation and presentation meet quality and restaurant standards. Collaboration: Assist the Head Chef in maintaining kitchen organisation and creating menus. Health and Safety: Monitor and maintain health and safety standards. Staff Management: Maintain staff and leave rosters. Quality Control: Ensure each dish leaving the kitchen meets quality, quantity, and presentation standards. Requirements: Education: Culinary Diploma. Experience: Approximately 4 years in a senior chef role. Transport: Own transport with a valid driver's license. Skills: Leadership, teamwork, basic computer skills, exceptional customer service, excellent communication, strong organisation, attention to detail.
