Senior Sous Chef - Coastal Retreat - Western Cape

Culinary Excellence: Assist in developing and executing culinary concepts that align with the establishment's standards of excellence. Work closely with the Head Chef to ensure the delivery of high-quality, creative, and culturally diverse culinary experiences.Menu Support: Contribute to menu development, showcasing a blend of local and international flavors using fresh, seasonal ingredients. Oversee the preparation and presentation of dishes to maintain the highest standards.Kitchen Operations: Support the day-to-day operations of the kitchen, ensuring adherence to hygiene, safety, and quality standards. Collaborate with kitchen staff to maintain a smooth workflow and efficient kitchen environment.Leadership: Provide guidance and support to junior kitchen staff, fostering a positive and collaborative work atmosphere. Assist in training and development initiatives to enhance the skills of the culinary team.Qualifications: Proven experience as a Sous Chef, with a preference for senior-level experience. Strong culinary skills and a passion for delivering exceptional dining experiences. Knowledge of Western Cape regional cuisine and international culinary trends.Experience: Minimum of 3 years of experience in a similar role, preferably in a coastal or resort setting.Location: The position is based in a serene coastal area in the Western Cape, South Africa.Salary: R20,000 - R25,000 per month, depending on experience.Work Schedule: 3 weeks on, 1 week off. Live-in position provided for non-local candidates.
