Overview
Hire Resolve's client in the Engineering sector is urgently seeking the expertise of a Senior Manager: Safety, Health, Environment, Risk, and Quality (SHERQ) in South Africa.
Responsibilities:

Develop and implement comprehensive SHERQ management systems, ensuring compliance with legal and contractual requirements.
Achieve and maintain certifications in health, safety, environmental, and quality standards.
Conduct risk assessments and audits to identify potential hazards, environmental impacts, and quality gaps, developing mitigation strategies.
Foster a culture of continuous improvement, driving initiatives that enhance safety, health, environmental performance, and quality excellence.
Provide expert advice and training to project teams on SHERQ matters, ensuring all employees are aware of and comply with SHERQ policies and procedures.
Oversee incident investigations, ensuring that root causes are identified and corrective actions are implemented.
Maintain accurate and up-to-date SHERQ documentation and records.
Engage with clients, contractors, and regulatory bodies to ensure SHERQ requirements are met and exceeded.
Produce SHERQ-related documents for tender submissions.
Lead projects from a SHERQ perspective from initiation, proposals, planning, and execution.
Work inside the Group's SHERQ system which is governed by the Group's IMS.

Requirements:

A bachelor's degree in or equivalent qualification (NQF 7) in SHEQ fields. A Postgraduate qualification (NQF 8) will be advantageous.
Professional certifications in health and safety (e.g., SACPCMP) or environmental management systems (e.g., ISO 14001).
Minimum of 10 years' experience in SHERQ management within the construction, engineering, or energy sectors, with at least 5 years in a leadership role.
Demonstrable experience in developing and implementing SHERQ strategies, policies, and procedures in compliance with local and international standards.
Proficient in risk management practices and techniques, with the ability to conduct comprehensive risk assessments and audits.
Extensive knowledge of quality management systems (e.g., ISO 9001) and experience in leading continuous improvement initiatives.
Strong leadership capabilities and the ability to drive SHERQ culture across the organization.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage effectively with stakeholders at all levels.
Report writing and statistical presentation skills.
Proficient Computer literacy skills, e.g., Word, Advance Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
A valid driver's license with own transport.
