Senior Service TechnicianOur client, a leading manufacturer and supplier of packaging machinery and equipment to the food and beverage industries, is looking to employ an experienced, hard-working, and capable artisan in the role of Senior Service Technician involved in the installation, maintenance & servicing of end-of-line packaging machinery for food and beverage companies.The person should have experience in visiting clients and be able to communicate effectively with them when there is a technical issue to be addressed. The person will be the face of the company and the first point of call for sometimes upset customers.This position will be based at Jet Park, Johannesburg.Duties & ResponsibilitiesInstallation & commissioning of end-of-line packaging equipmentRepairs, maintenance & fault-finding on equipmentManage all maintenance partsDeal directly with overseas suppliersCommunicate directly with customersProvide training for technicians & staff in customer's factoriesTravel to customer sites for installations, maintenance, and breakdownsDesired Experience & QualificationNational Senior Certificate8 - 10 years' experience working on packaging equipment in a food and beverage environmentStrong electrical experienceA service-driven approach to dealing with customers and maintaining customer relationshipsAble to cope under pressure and respond quickly to customer requestsA professional manner, with excellent interpersonal & communication skillsFluent in English and AfrikaansPresentable and confident to deal directly with customersFlexible and willing to work longer hours when requiredWilling to travelDriver's licensePackage & RemunerationMarket related
