We are seeking a highly skilled Senior SAP Consultant to join our team in Johannesburg (Hybrid). The successful candidate will apply their specialized expertise within SAP projects to meet customer business needs by interacting with stakeholders to define requirements and priorities. Under minimal direction, the SAP Integration Specialist will perform systems analysis, solution design, development, support, and maintenance of SAP systems. This role requires a deep understanding of SAP S/4 HANA integration with various cloud applications and the ability to work independently as a hands-on technical expert.
SAP Integration DevelopmentDevelop and maintain integrations between on-premise SAP S/4 HANA and cloud applications (e.g., ARIBA, Fieldglass, SuccessFactors) using middleware technologies.Understand functional designs and prepare technical designs, develop interfaces and mappings in SAP BTP, and perform bug fixing, testing, and documentation.Cloud Connector ConfigurationSet up and configure cloud connectors for connecting SAP Cloud Platform Integration (CPI) to on-premise applications such as SAP ECC, mail servers, and databases.Technical ExpertiseServe as a hands-on CPI middleware consultant, contributing individually to project deliverables.Manage integration technologies including BTP IS - Cloud Integration, API Management (API portal, Business Hub), and Open Connectors.Utilize API Portal to call exposed APIs through API Management.Integration Flows And AdaptersDiscover standard integration flows and define custom integration flows as per project requirements.Handle integrations using various CPI adapters such as ODATA, SFTP, FTP, IDOC, RFC/BAPI, SOAP, HTTP, Process Direct, REST, AMQP, JDBC, XI Proxy Adapters.Employ data conversion techniques (e.g., JSON to XML, CSV to XML) and use various CPI pallet options like Message transformations, Aggregator, Enricher, Splitter, etc.Scripting And Message MappingWrite Groovy and Java scripts to enhance integration processes.Work extensively with WSDL, JSON, XML, XSD, and XSLT technologies.Implement message mapping techniques, including the creation of User-Defined Functions (UDFs) and XSLT mappings.Exception Handling And SecurityManage CPI exception handling, error notification techniques, data persistence, and retry mechanisms.Handle security artifacts and manage encryption and decryption mechanisms.Operational SupportProvide operational support for CPI development and transport design objects from non-production tenants to production tenants using methods such as Manual, CTS+, or TMS.Minimum RequirementsBachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or other related field, or equivalent work experience.Minimum of 3-5 years of hands-on experience as a CPI middleware consultant as an individual contributor.Understanding of the functional design, prepare technical design, develop interfaces & mapping in SAP BTP, bug fixing, testing, documentation.Familiar with cloud connector setup configurations for connecting CPI to on-premise applications (like: SAP ECC, Mail server, DB, etc.).Hands-on exposure in BTP IS - Cloud Integration, API Management (API portal, Business Hub) and Open Connectors.Experience using API Portal to call exposed APIs (via APIM).Experience in discovering standard Integration flows and defining custom Integration flows.Expertise in handling integrations using various CPI adapters: ODATA, SFTP, FTP, IDOC, RFC/BAPI, SOAP, HTTP, Process Direct, REST, AMQP, JDBC, XI Proxy Adapters.Experience in handling different data conversion techniques (like JSON to XML, CSV to XML, etc.).Experience in using various CPI pallet options (Integration patterns – Message transformations, Aggregator, Enricher, Splitter, etc.).Experience in SAP integration technologies PI, CPI, EDI, ALE/IDOC, RFC/BAPI and API-based integrations.Expertise in writing Groovy & Java scripts.Experienced in WSDL, JSON, XML, XSD and XSLT technologies.Expertise in Message Mapping techniques (including defining UDFs) and XSLT mappings.Knowledge in CPI exception handling, error notification techniques, data persistence and retry mechanisms.Knowledge in handling security artifacts, encryption, and decryption mechanisms.Experience in both CPI Development and Operation Support.Ability to transport Design Objects from non-production tenants to production tenants (using any one of the methods: Manual, CTS+, TMS).Strong knowledge of CPI exception handling, security artifacts, and integration design object transportation.We are guided by shared values in all things we do: Courage, Excellence, Collaboration, Respect and Accountability.
