Senior Sales Engineer

Role Overview :The responsibility of the person in this position is to develop the business for the company T&D products and solar systems to Utility companies, IPP developers, Residential and C&I key players. The successful incumbent will be responsible for supplier pre-qualification requested by the local utility and IPP developers. The candidate will be based both inside and outside the office, with most of the time spent externally and with customers. The candidate will report directly to the leader of Eastern and Southern Africa division.Duties & Responsibilities :Investigate new markets and potential clients for on T&D business for Utilities, IPP developers and industry customers and on grid-connected solar plant and off-grid/hybrid solar systems for IPP developers, Residential, Commercial and Industry.Prepare and submit Company technical and commercial proposals for products/services in response to a customer's RFQ.Maintain client database as contacts are made and information is obtained.Follow-up on quotations; update negotiation database as results are obtained.Customer Relationship Management: Prospects, creates and maintains partnerships with customers to plan strategies, create solutions, train personnel and provide support as necessary for attainment of goals and objectives.Develop knowledge of local market conditions, competitor activities, make strategies, plan and execute strategies.Develop and execute an annual growth plan for the Company product range.Develop and execute marketing promotions and strategies for the Company product range.Responsible for product knowledge of Company T&D and solar products.Work with Customers to select the appropriate products to meet customer's needs.Host product update/training events or technical presentations focused on T&D and solar product information for customers.Develop and implement weekly, monthly, quarterly, and/or yearly metrics and reporting as required.Requirements :Bachelor's Degree: Electrical Engineering or Qualified Electrician.5 Years Project Development Experience: Power Transmission & Distribution business.Minimum 3 Years Experience: Renewable Energy Industry Sales/Developer.Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including development and delivery of presentations, proposals, etc.Strong Microsoft Office knowledge.Networking ability and skills.Good organizational skills which includes the development and execution of work plans.Ability to prioritize and multitask to meet deadlines.Hold a valid driver's license.Demonstrated history of progressive and sustainable sales (order entry) growth for services in the Renewable Energy industry.Proficient understanding of medium & high voltage electrical distribution equipment & systems, develop grid-connected solar plant, off-grid solar systems including ability to identify, analyze and present solutions.Self-driven, high energy and willingness to travel.Ability to identify and influence key decision makers within a prospective customer's organization.
