Key Responsibilities:Effective implementation and monitoring of all safety processParticipate in internal risk assessment processConduct inspections to determine and improve level of compliance to health and safety regulationsInvestigate accidents and incidentsInform stakeholders with regard to the status of health and safety at the MineAccompany the inspector of Mines during compliance inspections on the mine and participate in DMRE enquiriesParticipate in SHE related meetings; safety awareness campaignsGather input/data for SHE reports and statistics according to organisational requirementsConduct internal audits according to organisational procedures and legislative requirementsMaintain the SHE Risk Management System according to organisational requirementsLog inspections, incidents, accidents, and auditsEffective Contractor safety managementEmergency Preparedness and responseMinimum Requirements:National Diploma in Safety Management (NADSAM) or equivalent in Occupational Health & Safety2 to 3 years experience in Plant and Open Cast mining environmentRisk Assessment TrainingEnvironmental Awareness Training CourseCOMSOC I & II (Advantage)Competent A Certificate (Advantage)Advanced computer literacyAccident investigations (ICAM/RCAT)First Aid TrainingOHSAS 18001 auditing skills (advantageous)Sound verbal and written communication skills in EnglishAble to work under minimum supervision
