Job Summary We are seeking a Safety Engineer to join the This Company Loss Prevention organization (LP), which is the corporate safety organization within This Company. We provide both day-to-day in-field occupational and process safety support to This Company operations, as well as centralized technical support and consulting function. Our field offices are located in Abqaiq, Riyadh, Ras Tanura, Dhahran, Udhailiyah, Jeddah (including Yanbu and Jazan), and Tanajib. Through these offices, LP provides its services to all This Company facilities and departments that are located throughout the Kingdom.
Your primary role as a Safety Engineer (Loss Prevention Engineer) is to provide daily support to company facilities and departments, helping them effectively implement the This Company Safety Management System (Occupational & Process Safety) expectations and associated programs, as well as assuring compliance to all company safety requirements.
Responsibilities: Facilitate the implementation of the This Company Safety Management System, including its objectives and expectations, by developing associated safety processes and participating in self-assessments. Conduct field inspections and reviews to assess compliance with company and international codes and standards, identify safety concerns, formulate solutions, and develop practical and cost-effective corrective actions. Identify, evaluate, recommend actions, and follow up on critical safety tasks and control methodologies related to operational safety practices (e.g., work at height, isolation/LOTO, permit to work, hydrogen sulfide, confined space entry, excavations). Participate in safety studies and activities using risk assessment and mitigation methodologies such as PHAs, HAZOPs, JSAs, incident investigations, compliance reviews, or insurance surveys. Respond to emergency situations and incidents, providing technical assistance and advice during or after regular working hours. Participate in worksite contractor safety management activities, including contractor selection and prequalification, monitoring work site compliance, and measuring performance. Support the reporting, classification, and investigation of all incidents, participating in incident investigations to determine root causes and make recommendations to prevent recurrence. Deliver Loss Prevention-specific training to employees, contractors, and outside parties. Mentor other Loss Prevention personnel. Requirements: This role requires the candidate to permanently relocate to Dhahran, Saudi Arabia. Hold a Bachelor's degree in Engineering or Engineering Technology from an Accredited Institution. Possess seven years of experience as a safety professional in the oil and gas, petrochemicals, or related industries, with a strong track record of delivering results. Comprehensive experience covering both occupational and process safety. Excellent communication skills in English, capable of effectively communicating with peers and management. Ability to produce clear and concise oral and written reports in English.
