Job Overview:
As the Senior Safari Consultant, you'll oversee the seamless operation of all front-end sales and ensure that every safari experience exceeds our clients' expectations. Reporting directly to the Managing Director, you will be responsible for driving sales, managing reservations, and leading a team of consultants to achieve excellence.
Key Responsibilities:
SOPs and Reservations Systems Management:
Gain an in-depth understanding of all systems used by the Safari Consultant team.
Handle reservations, troubleshoot issues, and adhere to standard operating procedures.
Ensure the team is well-trained and supported, and manage consultant inboxes during absences on a rotational basis.
Business Development:
Lead the team in crafting outstanding safari itineraries and maintaining high service standards.
Build and nurture relationships with lodges, suppliers, and other key partners.
Secure repeat business, generate new leads, and close trip files within 7 days.
Customer Service:
Achieve high levels of customer satisfaction and handle all incidents and complaints.
Maintain prompt communication with clients throughout their travel journey.
Ensure a 24-hour email turnaround and a 2-hour WhatsApp response time.
Planning Itineraries:
Collaborate on creating impactful safari itineraries and proposals using preferred software.
Develop detailed costings and manage all aspects of bookings and guest communications.
Confirm all travel details and logistics, and coordinate personalized touches for guests.
General Business Support:
Provide administrative support including handling complimentary and sponsored accommodation.
Manage phone duty coverage on weekends and public holidays on a rotational basis.
Requirements & Skills Needed:
Minimum of 10 years' experience in the hospitality/travel industry, with consulting experience being advantageous.
Exceptional organizational and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively with clients and teams.
Proficiency in MS Word, Outlook, Excel, and online agent portals.
Strategic thinker with practical problem-solving skills.
Deep understanding of personalization and a passion for sustainability.
Proven leadership abilities with experience managing a diverse team.
A growth mindset and a commitment to achieving high levels of customer satisfaction.
