We are seeking a Senior Royalty Analyst, Label Administration, with ideally 3+ years of record label experience.
Location: This position can be based out of Nashville (TN), New York City (NY), White Plains (NY), or Los Angeles (CA) on a hybrid basis.
Overview of Role: The Label Administration department handles complex music royalty accounting for independent music labels, legacy artists and sound recording catalog owners. The Senior Analyst, Label Administration is responsible for preparing royalty statements and allocation schedules on behalf of independent record label and music clients.
Responsibilities: Prepare mechanical, artist, producer or net profit royalty accountings for independent label clientsSummarize artist and third-party agreements and apply key provisions to the preparation of royalty statementsAnalyze sales data files from various distribution sourcesMusic product metadata, artist royalty rates and mechanical license setup in royalty accounting softwareOther projects and duties as assignedA successful candidate will possess the following qualifications: Bachelor's degree is required2+ years of experience in a similar role working with mechanical, artist, producer or net profit royalty accountingsStrong working knowledge of recording agreements and royalty calculationsStrong working knowledge of royalty accounting software (RoyaltyShare, Curve, Record Maestro, or SR1)Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office and especially Excel, including Pivot Tables and formulas (such as VLOOKUP and SUMIF) – bonus points for experience with Power Pivot and Power QueryBasic understanding of mathematical and accounting principlesThe ability to work both independently and in a team environment while being able to prioritize tasksSolid interpersonal skills and other key soft skills (i.e., communication, time management, attention to detail, emotional intelligence, adaptability, active listening, critical-thinking, etc.)Candidate information, including education and work experience, is verified upon an offer of employment. Employee compensation is determined by a variety of factors including, but not limited to, employee education/training/credentials, employee work experience, work location (including if the employee will be hybrid or fully in-office), the scope and responsibilities of the role, internal peer equity, and market considerations. The expected base compensation hiring range for these positions is as follows:
