IntroductionDurban – Riverhorse Valley is currently recruiting for an experienced and qualified Senior Risk Controller to join their team.
To fulfill the senior functions around the control room's responsibilities in monitoring all business activities which are mainly fleet and risk related.
ResponsibilitiesSupervising day-to-day operations of the Risk and Operational Control Room and problem solving.Ensure that the approved systems in place are utilized and incidents are processed quickly, accurately, and timeously.Monitor individual performance ensuring high level of performance.Interacting between customers to ensure smooth delivery.Ensuring that Standard Operation Procedures affecting the operational and risk environment are adhered to.Understanding the operations of the business nationally and ensuring that all reporting procedures are followed and adhered to.Driver, Incident & Risk reporting on dashboards to senior management and directors.Assisting with counselling and discipline of controllers.Assisting senior management and directors with any special requests.Managing and taking accountability for Risk related incidents such as Hijackings, Accidents, Breakdowns in High-Risk areas, Route Violations and Critical Alerts.Ensure that all incidents are escalated to senior management.Ensure that all control room staff follow the Risk Control Room SOP and complete their allocated daily tasks efficiently and accurately.Adhere to correct distribution procedures and policies.Management of controllers on shift and ensure they comply with instructions and duties.Ensure that allocations, track and trace reports for deliveries are sent out per agreed reporting timelines and that they are accurate and concise with all the relevant data.Ensure that the controllers manage and correctly monitor their allocated fleet and that all incidents, client reporting and breakdowns are followed and actioned until resolved.Ensure that all non-conformance matters are addressed immediately and escalated accordingly to the relevant management.Breakdowns - ensure that breakdowns are managed timeously and escalated if necessary.Incident report (IR) - This must be created and sent out as soon as it is reported and further details to the report can be updated and sent out later.
Ensure that IR reports are professional and free from grammatical errors.Allocation updates - vehicles need to be monitored, positions recorded on the allocation and sent out to the relevant staff and managers.
Ensure that allocations are received on time from the depots and linehaul as per instructions.
Verify and confirm some of the data from the allocations every hour with emphasis being placed on the high-risk depots.Minimum RequirementsGrade 12 – MatricMinimum of 3-5 years of experience in a risk controller or similar role.Achievement Orientation and staff motivationAble to work shiftsAbility to diagnose problems, effect corrective and preventative measuresAbility to issue clear and concise instructions and ensure that they are followed correctly.Analytical thinking & attention to detailDemonstrate a high level of integrity, professionalism, and excellent communication skills.A strong ability to multi-task, and address and resolve operational issues using deductive logic and reasoning.Must be able to handle and respond to incidents and operational situations in a professional and technically proficient manner.Relationship BuildingDecision MakingStrategic OrientationComputer Literacy and working knowledge of Excel.Own reliable transportCompany ValuesRespect and Care: Always show respect, care for and treat everyone fairly, put people first.Integrity and Loyalty: Display loyalty, display integrity, do the right thing always!Can Do: Must have a can-do attitude, believe in yourself, and live out our values always.Continuous Improvement: Must be dedicated to continuous improvement, be innovative and constantly learning to keep ahead.
