Job Description
Your Mission: To be our Risk and Compliance Guru, assessing the overall business risk profile and suggesting priorities.
Making sure we comply with our own policies and processes, and ultimately achieving 100% risk compliance for all of our business units.Who you are:

What you'll do:

Partner with our business units to review and achieve full compliance.
Audit existing SLA agreements and ensure the business is aware and on top of their requirements.
Monitor any changes in laws, regulations, initiatives and relevant industry practices and translate their effects into the business.
Provide legal advice and support to the various business units, management and their teams.
Research and share new legislation with the relevant teams in a clearly understandable format.
Provide expert knowledge on any relevant legislative amendments and industry best practice.
Assess the overall company strategy and apply it to our risk portfolio to determine gaps.
Analyse, report and provide input into decisions regarding risk mitigation strategies within the risk portfolio.
Manage compliance as our strategy adjusts and the business develops.
Take responsibility for all contract and SLA negotiations.
Take responsibility for facilitating, embedding, monitoring and reporting on the business's Governance, Risk and Compliance framework.
Audit compliance and process throughout the business and implement performance measures.
Report in to Manco and Exco quarterly on business wide compliance.
Make sure we comply with legislative and audit requirements for governance.
Identify areas of risk and implement policies and procedures that close the gaps.
Work with the business units to develop and implement risk reducing projects and initiatives.
Share proactive advice and solutions with the business units.
Liaise with our lawyers and auditors.
Develop materials and documentation including minimum standards, templates, guidelines, FAQs and processes.
Nurture and develop an expert team.
Proactively develop your own skills and expertise.
Qualifications

LLB or BCom Law Honours Degree essential
7 to 8 years experience at a senior management level within the technology products and services environment in: Risk management, Compliance, Legal or Governance.
Registered with The Institute of Risk Management South Africa (IRMSA)
Registered with The Compliance Institute Southern Africa (CISA)
Registered with The Institute of Chartered Secretaries and Administrators (ICSA)
Understanding of Solvency II, or Solvency Assessment and Management (SAM)
Clear understanding of the POPI Act and experience with implementation and rollout.
