Job Duties:Manage and oversee the release management process, ensuring efficient and timely deployment of software releasesCoordinate with cross-functional teams, including development, testing, and operations, to plan and execute release activitiesCreate and maintain release schedules, ensuring alignment with project timelines and business objectivesPerform risk assessments and implement mitigation strategies to minimise disruptions during release cyclesCollaborate with stakeholders to define release policies and procedures, ensuring adherence to industry best practisesMonitor and track release progress, providing regular status updates to management and project teamsIdentify and escalate release-related issues or conflicts, working towards resolution to minimise impact on project timelinesEnsure proper documentation of release processes, including release notes, deployment instructions, and post-release evaluationsStay updated with industry trends and emerging technologies related to release management, recommending process improvementsRequired Qualifications:Proven experience as a Release Manager or in a similar roleStrong understanding of software development lifecycle and release management processesExcellent knowledge of release management tools and techniquesAbility to effectively coordinate and manage cross-functional teamsExceptional problem-solving and decision-making skillsExcellent communication and interpersonal skillsAttention to detail and strong organisational skillsAbility to work under pressure and meet tight deadlinesEducation:Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related fieldExperience:Minimum of 5 years of experience in release management or a related roleExperience in coordinating and managing complex software release cyclesKnowledge and Skills:Comprehensive knowledge of release management methodologies and best practisesProficiency in using release management tools and softwareStrong analytical and problem-solving abilitiesAbility to understand and interpret technical documentationExcellent project management skillsAbility to work collaboratively in a team environmentPreferred Qualifications:Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related fieldProfessional certifications in release management or project managementExperience in the banking and finance industryWorking Conditions:This is a contract position requiring full-time hoursWork is primarily office-based, with occasional remote work possibilitiesMay involve occasional travel to client sites or other locations as requiredMust be able to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines
