RESPONSIBILITIES: Cost Estimation & Budgeting: Prepare detailed cost estimates for construction projects based on architectural drawings and specifications.
Develop project budgets, forecast costs, and monitor financial performance throughout the project lifecycle.
Evaluate and update budgets as necessary during construction.
Tendering & Procurement: Oversee the preparation of tender documents and manage the tendering process.
Assess, evaluate, and negotiate tenders from contractors and suppliers.
Prepare and review contracts, ensuring terms and conditions are aligned with project objectives.
Contract Administration: Manage and administer construction contracts, ensuring compliance with contractual obligations.
Review, analyze, and negotiate change orders and variations with contractors and clients.
Conduct risk assessments and prepare claims for time extensions, additional payments, or any disputes that may arise.
Cost Control & Reporting: Implement effective cost control mechanisms to monitor actual project costs against budget.
Produce regular cost reports and cash flow forecasts for senior management and stakeholders.
Monitor project expenditures and analyze deviations from the budget.
Risk Management: Identify potential risks, assess impacts, and propose mitigation strategies.
Implement strategies to minimize cost overruns and maximize financial performance.
Stakeholder Communication: Liaise with project managers, contractors, suppliers, and other stakeholders to ensure seamless communication.
Provide expert advice on contractual and financial matters to senior management and clients.
Conduct meetings with clients, architects, and engineers to ensure project progress aligns with cost expectations.
Team Leadership: Lead and mentor a team of junior quantity surveyors and estimators.
Ensure the team is aligned with project goals and contribute to their professional development.
Compliance & Documentation: Ensure that all processes adhere to local building regulations, industry standards, and company policies.
Maintain detailed records of project costs, contracts, and other relevant documentation.
REQUIREMENTS BSC degree in quantity surveying, Construction Management, or related field.
Professional certifications.
Minimum of 7-10 years of experience in quantity surveying, estimating, or a similar role within the construction industry.
SKILLS In-depth knowledge of construction methods, materials, and regulations.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
