A well-established global wealth management company is looking for a driven and forward-thinking Senior Property Accountant to join their expanding team in Cape Town.
As a valued member of the Property Division within this wealth management giant, your main responsibilities in this role will include maintaining relationships with key stakeholders, ensuring accurate record-keeping, managing financial accounting processes, conducting analysis, budgeting, reporting and meeting all corporate accounting requirements.
The Senior Property Accountant position calls for a confident and self-motivated individual who excels at ensuring the continuous implementation of operational standards and controls. In addition, strong technical skills as well as the ability to work under pressure in a demanding and fast-paced environment are essential for this role.
Key qualifications and experience required for the Senior Property Accountant: Fully Qualified CA(SA)5 - 7 years' post qualified experienceCompleted articles at a reputable audit firm is essentialProven track record of working in the property investment sectorIn-depth knowledge of corporate tax laws and regulatory requirementsGood working knowledge of Accounting Packages (Sage X3, Oracle, Caseware, MDA)Experience in the fund management industry would be advantageous Key duties of the Senior Property Accountant: Ensure company complies with JSE listing requirementsMaintain relationships with the CSDP, monitor shareholder register and submit reports to executivesEnsure lease data is correctly loaded on MDA for proper revenue and recoveries accountingMaintain budget and forecast for both revenue expenditures and capital budgetPrepare reports based on multi-currency scenarios and recommend management of currency risk through different exposuresEnsure compliance with applicable accounting and corporate policiesMonitor month-end close and preparation of month-end management accountsInteract with external auditors at time of audit Key personal skills: Demonstrates integrity and professionalismExceptional communication and interpersonal skillsThrives in high-pressure environments and meets tight deadlinesPossesses a results-driven mindset and showcases technical expertiseDisplays intelligence and adaptability in tackling challengesIf you are a dynamic CA(SA), looking to join a high performing team in a role that involves diverse responsibilities in finance and accounting, we encourage you to get in touch for a discussion about this position.
