Murray & Roberts Cementation invites suitably qualified candidates to apply for the position of Senior Projects Manager to be placed in Venetia Mine. The successful candidate will report to the Projects Executive. The company will provide remuneration and benefits relevant and appropriate to the position. The successful candidate will be responsible for, but not be limited to: Oversee a large complex project or multiple smaller projects / shafts successfully through effective client relations, disciplined project execution and effective team leadership to achieve safe production and financial targets.Understand the original scope and communicate to project management teams.Engage with stakeholders across projects to facilitate and close out, commercial, financial, technical, HR or any other project risk.Maintain continuous engagement with Clients / EPCM to strengthen relations, resolve issues and obtain new work.Lead, develop and coach employees to build competent, motivated management teams and workforce in line with M&RC's values and talent management initiatives to ensure business continuity.Utilise strategic and management skills to meet project deliverables, enhance the effectiveness and efficiency of work practices/systems and optimise all available resources, i.e. people, technology, finance and systems.Identify, develop and implement controlled change initiatives to ensure project continuity.Manage risk and operational discipline in line with legislation, policies, procedures and standards to ensure successful outcomes.Manage the projects in line with contractual and commercial requirements, extension of time and claim formulation.Attend and participate in Project Reviews and monitor contractual entitlements/costs across projects.Provide input into the development and execution of the project management strategy, frameworks and principles for M&RC.Self and team use SharePoint as a repository for project information and project management assurance.Participate and provide expertise into the tendering process and inform on lessons learnt.Suitable candidates must possess the following minimum qualifications and skills: BSc / BEng / BTech in Mining or Engineering.Mine Managers Certificate of Competency/ Government Certificate of Competency [Engineering Mines & Works].Project Management Professional [Preferred].Business/ Financial Management qualification [Advantageous].Proficient in Microsoft Office [Excel, Projects, Word & PowerPoint].Exposure to CCS [Construction Computer Software].Entrepreneurial and commercial thinking skills, with in-depth understanding of contracts & project financials.Strategic thinking, enablement and leadership skills.Sound analytical, logical reasoning, judgement and decision making skills.Ability to apply expertise and technology, deliver results and meet customer expectations.Excellent communication skills with ability to persuade, influence, negotiate and resolve conflict.Passionate about safety leadership and engagement.Suitable candidates must have the following work experience: Minimum 10 years of operational project management experience in a coal/metalliferous mining environment, with experience managing multiple projects / shafts as a 3.1 legal appointee.International experience in various mining methods preferred.Experience successfully managing industrial relations and union community engagement in a highly unionised environment.Sound knowledge, understanding and experience of one or more specific areas as required for the particular project (Shaft Sinking, Capital Development, Contract Mining, Trackless Mechanised Mining, Board and Pillar mining, Hard rock production, Mining Services, Grout Plants, Raise Drilling and Drop Raising etc.).In-depth working knowledge of Project Management principles, frameworks, methodologies and system requirements, with proven depth of experience in project management i.e. meeting project deadlines, maintaining the commercial contract and achieving financial targets.Knowledge of related legislation both within South Africa and cross border.Knowledge of CCS [Construction Computer Software] and managing allowable and certificates.Experience leading multidisciplinary teams.All appointments will be done in line with our employment equity strategy.
