Afrigen Biologics is seeking a qualified and experienced Senior Project Manager to lead project/s focused on pipeline mRNA vaccines and next generation mRNA technologies.
This critical role involves overseeing the project lifecycle, from planning to execution, ensuring timely delivery, and maintaining compliance with both grant and regulatory requirements.
You will be at the forefront of mRNA vaccine innovation, building capacity, and driving impactful partnerships with local and international collaborators.
You will be responsible for several projects working through a team of project managers and personally responsible for one high profile CEPI funded project.
Key Responsibilities: Lead the planning and execution of a high-impact mRNA vaccine development project.
Drive project momentum and manage milestones.
Co-ordinate and compile technical and high-level budget reports Manage project budgets and liaise with the Afrigen Finance Department Lead the project management team assigned to other development projects Supporting capacity building in the Project Management team Foster strong relationships with funders and global partners, ensuring seamless communication and collaboration.
Qualifications: Project Management Professional certification or equivalent and a Bachelor's degree in Life Sciences, Biotechnology, or a related field.
5-7 years of experience in project management, preferably in biotech/pharma space, with a strong focus on vaccine and/or biologics development.
Good understanding of cGMP and South African regulatory environment would be an advantage.
