Senior Project Engineer (Solar)

The team is looking for a Senior Project Engineer to join them in either their Johannesburg or Cape Town offices. The Senior Project Engineer will lead designs independently and ensure that it complies to regulations and standards and follows good engineering practice. This includes:

Designing renewable energy systems. Accurately predicting project costings. Calculating system productions accurately. Ensuring that designed systems are robust in operation. The Senior Project Engineer must continually be kept up to date with new technological developments in the Solar PV and Energy Storage Industry, making sure the company remains at the forefront of innovative customised solutions to be offered to their clients.

Minimum Requirements: A minimum qualification of B.Eng, BSc. Eng, or B.Tech Eng in Electrical engineering. Registered with the Engineering Council of South Africa as a Professional Engineer or Professional Engineering Technologist. 5 – 10 years' experience, with experience in the design of renewable energy systems. Excellent computer literacy and knowledge of design and visualization software. The ability to work with multiple disciplines of projects. The ability to work across multiple projects in parallel. Excellent organizational, time management, leadership and decision-making skills. Strong written and verbal communication. Knowledge of applicable codes, policies, standards and best practices. The ability to work within budgets and to deadlines.
