Job Title: Solar Project Engineer
The Solar Project Engineer will be responsible for the technical design, planning, and execution of solar energy projects from inception to completion. This role requires a hands-on approach in managing engineering processes, ensuring compliance with regulations, optimizing system performance, and coordinating with cross-functional teams. The ideal candidate will have experience in solar energy design and project management, with a focus on delivering high-quality results on time and within budget.
Key Responsibilities:

Design and engineer solar PV systems for industrial, commercial, and utility-scale projects.
Prepare detailed electrical and mechanical drawings, layouts, and specifications.
Perform energy production analyses, simulations, and optimization of solar PV systems using industry-standard software.
Manage and oversee project timelines, budgets, and resources from design to commissioning.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including construction, procurement, and sales, to ensure seamless project delivery.
Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations, as well as industry standards (NEC, IEC, etc.).
Provide technical support during project development, permitting, and construction phases.
Conduct site assessments, feasibility studies, and system performance testing.
Troubleshoot system issues and recommend improvements for efficiency and performance.
Communicate regularly with clients, contractors, and stakeholders to ensure project goals are met.
Prepare project documentation, including engineering reports, as-built drawings, and O&M manuals.

Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Mechanical, or Renewable Energy Engineering (or related field).
3+ years of experience in solar PV system design and engineering.
Proficiency with solar design software (e.g., PVsyst, AutoCAD, Helioscope).
Strong understanding of electrical codes and standards (NEC, IEEE, etc.).
Experience with project management and knowledge of construction processes.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.
Professional Engineer (PE) license or NABCEP certification is a plus.
Willingness to travel to project sites as needed.
