The team has a position available for a Program Manager who will be based at our Head Office in Cape Town, Tygervalley.
JOB DESCRIPTION
The Program Manager works under the supervision of a senior manager in the business and works closely with a variety of stakeholders, including business, vendors, professional bodies and contractors.
They are the central point of contract and escalation for all professional services issues within the Program.
They typically operate across business domains, business units, geographies and technologies.
The main daily responsibility of the Program Manager is the management of multiple related projects, which are directed toward a common objective.
They ensure that business expectations are aligned with the agreed scope and deliverables of the program of works, and actively promote the value-add of governance and delivery management using the PDC (Project Delivery Centre) methodology framework.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
The role works across the Business Facing Units (Client Solutions, Broker Solutions, Partner Solutions, Specialist Solutions, Re & International and Shared and Enabling services)
The scope includes:
Managing a program of activities/products aligning with the organisations' strategic objectives
Monitor Program items progress and raise impediments impacting on delivery
Enable Program oversight
Governance definition & support
Govern stage gates as per delivery framework
Monitor & ensure quality of project execution
Facilitate benefit case definition & review
Enable benefit tracking
Identify Program Risks
Enhance & maintain the project risk management framework
Risk appetite and tolerance framework
Define and track key risk indicators
Define Project Management and Project Co-ordination resource demand and supply
Monitor and balance capacity & allocation
Contract management
Team leadership and management
Facilitate Project Management and Project Co-ordination community of practice
QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
Overall 10 + Years of experience in a Project Delivery Environment
4– 8 Experience as a Snr Project Manager
1-3 Experience in the role of Program Manager
