SENIOR PROFESSIONAL OFFICER: SERVICE TENDERS AND MAINTENANCE PRACTICES (MV)Requirements: BEng or BSc degree in Electrical Engineering, or BTech degree in Electrical EngineeringMinimum of five (5) years' postgraduate technical experience of which three (3) years should be managerial experience with extensive exposure to Medium Voltage electrical distribution infrastructure, with particular emphasis and knowledge relating to operations and maintenance managementECSA Registered Professional Engineer or Technologist or eligible for registrationNetwork and equipment commissioning and maintenanceKnowledge of maintenance policies and standards, reliability centred maintenance practices and maintenance management systemsProficiency in compiling and managing capital budgets.Key performance areas:Conduct the research, introduction and application of new technologies and strategies in the maintenance of the distribution networkConduct and coordinate technical aspects of the supply chain for acquisition of maintenance service providers including prepare and issue technical specifications, evaluation of technical tenders and maintenance and service contract managementMaintain a comprehensive maintenance plan for the distribution network and facilitate the implementation of manufacturers' technical bulletinsMaintain and ensure compliance with work standards set by maintenance and service standards/practices specialist for research, planning, design, project implementation, documentation, record keeping and written communicationLiaise with Electricity Services: Infrastructure Management staff, consultants and contractors regarding maintenance requirements including performance of applicable service providers.Please apply online at www.capetown.gov.za/careers (external applicants) or via the SAP Portal (internal applicants) unless otherwise stated.
