Senior Professional Officer - Mobile Businnes and technology analyst Cape Town IT ~ Project Management Cape Town - Western Cape SPO - Mobile Business and Technology Analyst Cape Town Our client within the economic development space is seeking a highly skilled professional with a passion for driving growth and innovation in mobile business technology on a contract basis.
This pivotal role will have you at the forefront of their departments efforts to expand their Mobile Business Temporary Activity (MBTA) initiative and modernize their mobile business processes.
Key Responsibilities: Pipeline Development: Spearhead the growth of our MBTA pipeline by orchestrating engagements with internal and external stakeholders.
Design Expertise: Develop, conceptualize, and finalize detailed MBTA Term Sheets for each site, ensuring precision and strategic alignment.
Modernization Leadership: Lead the overhaul of our Mobile Business Application process, establishing yourself as the go-to expert for all applications.
Content Accuracy: Oversee the accuracy and quality of information published on the company website, ensuring it meets high standards.
Infrastructure Coordination: Collaborate with the Area Economic Development (AED) on MBTA infrastructure upgrades and manage various services from area-specific budgets.
Record Keeping: Maintain meticulous records of mobile business processes, including applications, meetings, correspondences, public participation processes, and decisions.
Stakeholder Consultation: Work closely with stakeholders to identify and designate new MBTAs, and regularize existing unpermitted mobile business locations.
Site Identification: Assist Development and Investment in consulting with (chairman and manager) to identify new sites, coordinating with departments such as Parks and Recreation, Coastal Management, and Area Economic Development.
Public Participation: Advertise the complete list of MBTAs for public input, manage the public participation process, respond to inquiries, and prepare comprehensive reports for stakeholders.
Reporting: Submit detailed reports outlining progress on new site identification and propose Mobile Business Policy, Bylaw amendments.
Qualifications: B-Tech or first degree in Business, Economic Development, Urban Planning, Town and Regional Planning, or Built Environment, Science or Engineering Experience: Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience.
Essential Skills and Requirements: - Proven experience working with elected public representatives, business sectors, and the public.
- Expertise in setting up new systems, procedures, and processes for innovative programs.
- Basic understanding of GIS, municipal maps, plans, and concept designs.
- Strong project management, implementation, facilitation, and coordination skills.
- Working knowledge of public space management, urban management, and economic facilities or infrastructure.
Desired Skills: Analytical Skills: Ability to collect, analyze, and interpret data to identify trends and make recommendations for system improvements.
Interpersonal Skills: Excellent communication and collaboration abilities to work effectively with diverse teams and stakeholders.

Familiarity with Sharepoint and SAP is a plus.

Project Management: Exceptional organizational and project management skills to coordinate activities, manage resources, and meet tight deadlines.
Teamwork: Ability to work effectively within a team of officials from various departments.
