MAIN PURPOSE OF JOBTo ensure a safe, positive patient experience by supporting the unit manager in the coordination of patient care and management of the unit.
KEY RESPONSIBILITY AREASEnsure comprehensive and safe patient care by mitigating risks and meeting set clinical quality standards.Manage the patient experience.Ensure optimal supply, retention and utilization of staffing resources.Empower and build staff competence through continuous assessment and development.Assist with the effective management of operational expenses (including stock and capital).REQUIRED EDUCATIONESSENTIAL EDUCATION: Degree/ Diploma in General Nursing.DESIRED EDUCATION: Midwifery.Postgraduate certificate/ diploma in specialty area.REQUIRED EXPERIENCEESSENTIAL MINIMUM EXPERIENCE: None.DESIRED EXPERIENCE: None.REQUIRED JOB SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGEPharmacology.Nursing processes and procedures.Infection prevention and control.Scientific nursing principles and processes.Develop/modify a nursing care plan.Scope of practice for nurse practitioners.For specialized wards; ACLS; ATLS; PALS trained.Analyzing and interpretation skills.Basic life support trained.All applicants will be considered, with the understanding that preference will be given in accordance with the Employment Equity Plan of Mediclinic Southern Africa, as well as internal applicants/employees that meet the minimum requirements.
