The Opportunity: Join Roche Diagnostics in Cape Town as a Senior Production Scheduler!
This role requires a detail-oriented and self-motivated individual to masterfully maintain the detailed schedule for production activities, ensuring compliance with SOPs and timely delivery.
Collaboration with Supply Chain and cross-functional teams is key.
Strong organizational skills, initiative, flexibility, and a strong work ethic are essential for success in this position.
Key Challenges The role involves creating and implementing detailed schedules for in-house manufactured products.
Key responsibilities include:
Developing daily, weekly, and monthly production schedules.Releasing manufacturing orders to the shop floor and resolving scheduling conflicts.Monitoring production/testing activities and adjusting schedules as needed.Ensuring material availability for downstream processes in the supply chain.Interacting with stakeholders to meet on-time delivery objectives.Driving continuous improvement in production metrics.Facilitating communication of issues and providing proactive solutions.Participating in resource and equipment planning.Contributing to yearly budgeting processes and maintaining accurate ERP data.Managing inventory to meet financial goals and supporting new product launches.Collaborating with various teams to ensure schedule execution and issue resolution.The job also includes participating in regular planning meetings, providing input for S&OP reviews, and other tasks assigned by management.
Who You Are as an Ideal Candidate Master's (preferred) or Bachelor's (required) degree or equivalent combination of education and work experience.Required Experience: 2 - 5 years of relevant industry experience or general laboratory experience.Preferred: 1 year of experience in scheduling for filling or manufacturing operations, preferably in the pharmaceutical or medical device industry.Recommended skills & abilities Effective troubleshooting and resolving difficult problems in creative ways.Strong organizational, planning and attention to detail skills.Able to take new perspectives on existing solutions, exploring and implementing new concepts and methodologies.Good written and verbal communication skills.Accountability, flexibility and strong work ethic.Ability to identify and communicate issues proactively.Demonstrated track record of effective stakeholder management.Proficiency in the use of ERP software (preferably SAP).Knowledge of Lean concepts and applications.Who we areAt Roche, more than 100,000 people across 100 countries are pushing back the frontiers of healthcare.
