They are looking for a Senior Production Manager for the Auto-Electrical Team, in their Richards Bay Office. The Senior Production Manager will take charge of manufacturing objectives, profit goals, and production schedules. Ensure that the production process is on time and within the budget. Be responsible for the technical management, supervision, and control of industrial production processes.Key Responsibilities:Leading and managing a staff of 50+ across varied disciplinesManaging the complete production process ensuring safety at all timesLeading the overall manufacturing development strategy for the areas under ownership for key metrics (quality, delivery, and cost) and actively measuring team's performance against these metricsProviding technical direction and mentorship for team members to ensure quality of deliverables and capability of team membersDriving design for manufacturing (DFM) best practices and design for test (DFT) with design engineers and test engineersManaging modification, repair, assembly and integration of production assemblies in order to guarantee achievement of on-time delivery and quality targetsResolving reoccurring non-conformance issuesReviewing work instructions, and making change recommendations when neededMeeting tight production schedules to achieve high-rate productionAssessing, staffing and vetting the appropriate skill sets neededMonitoring material costs and cost savingsRequirements:Bachelor's degree in an engineering field (BEng Industrial Engineer)Minimum 5+ years of experience in a production /automotive environment, at a manufacturing leadership levelRequirements:Understands the applications of the different material management systems (Kanbans, 5S, JIT, Lean)Experience bringing teams and processes from development to productionAble to effectively communicate with engineering and production (verbal and written)Ability to interpret engineering models, drawings, specifications, written work instructions, and test proceduresSchematics: Engineering drawings, circuit layouts, and parts listStrong leadership skillsSafety training and/or safety certificationsExperience monitoring, tracking and continually improving total cost equationExperience with applying lean manufacturing principles, efficiency methods Network Recruitment is a leading specialist recruitment company in the fields of IT, Finance and Engineering.
