Direct Subordinates: Production Engineers Graduate Engineers Job Purpose: Responsible for implementing and buying off manufacturing processes, driving continuous improvements to ensure plant utilization and efficiency targets are achieved. Providing guidance and mentorship to production engineers and graduates.
KEY PERFORMANCE AREA Projects Process lead in feasibility studies Lead SQAM activities (Process) Lead and approve MIFC/Value stream mapping activities Create Weld jig concepts Create Stamping sheets Review and approval weld jig designs Weld Jig evaluation and buying off weld jigs Tooling evaluation and buying off tooling Involved in quality assurance, creating PFMEA with the respective team Assist project core team with manufacturing engineering attributes regarding control plans and APQP documentation Assist project core team with checking fixture concepts Production Engineering Pant engineering and troubleshooting of processes, machinery, tooling etc. Lead improvement activities/SMED/Kaizen Create training activity plans Designing of manufacturing processes Industrialization of projects to production buy off phase, new product launches such as localization tooling/non-automotive components Raising of concessions Plant layouts Lead installation of new equipment Conduct root cause analysis Ensure manufacturing processes achieve required plant utilization and efficiency Analyze production data from per4ma and implement improvements HRD Ensure there is an effective and cost-efficient structure in place. Coach, train and mentor subordinates in both classroom and OJT scenarios. Responsible for ensuring succession planning for all critical positions. People Management Ensure the delivery of the People Strategy within the area of accountability. Coach and develop a team that meets agreed objectives and which delivers best practice results, added value and continuous improvements. Motivate and coach the team to operational success. Monitor the team's completion of tasks and ensure KPI's are met. Knowledge: Sound knowledge of SQAM, VDA6 and other customer requirements Ability to interpret technical drawings and specifications. Knowledge and understanding of CAD Knowledge and understanding of IATF 16949, ISO14991 and VDA6 Interpretation of external quality standards Knowledge of metal stamping, resistance and robotic welding and e-coating A Consultant will be in touch if you are shortlisted for the position.
