Role Overview: We are seeking a skilled Senior Product Owner to lead the development and delivery of our customer billing software .
This role requires a strong subject matter expert (SME) in billing systems, who can combine deep domain knowledge with agile product ownership practices to ensure the software meets our customers needs and business objectives.
You will collaborate closely with Product Managers, stakeholders, and development teams to translate strategic goals into actionable deliverables, while maintaining ownership of the product backlog and driving delivery excellence.
What you'll do: Subject Matter Expertise Serve as the go-to expert on billing systems, including core processes, functionality, and regulatory compliance.
Provide guidance and insights to stakeholders and teams based on domain expertise.
Collaborate with Product Team Partner with your Product Manager and dependent product teams to align on product vision, strategy, and priorities.
Translate high-level objectives into actionable requirements and clear backlog items.
Stakeholder Engagement Be the bridge between business stakeholders, technical teams, and our customers.
Collaborate with teams to deliver value that meets customer expectations, creating seamless and meaningful experiences.
Gather and refine detailed requirements, ensuring they address business and customer needs.
Provide SME-driven insights to inform prioritisation and trade-off decisions.
Backlog Ownership Own and maintain the product backlog, ensuring it reflects customer and business value and technical feasibility.
Collaborate to write detailed user stories with precise acceptance criteria, leveraging domain expertise to anticipate challenges.
Continuously refine the backlog to adapt to changing priorities and ongoing feedback.
Delivery Oversight Collaborate with engineering teams to deliver high-quality features within acceptable timelines.
Work within a fast-paced environment ensuring prioritisation between short-term objectives and long-term strategy.
Participate in agile ceremonies, including sprint planning, reviews, and retrospectives.
Validate delivered features against acceptance criteria and user expectations.
Continuous Improvement and Innovation Identify opportunities to enhance billing system functionality, performance, and customer experience.
Use feedback loops and data-driven insights to drive iterative improvements.
Contribute to the development of best practices and standards for billing systems.

Experience: Minimum 5+ years as a Product Owner, Business Analyst, or similar role, with a focus on billing systems or financial software.
Proven experience as a Subject Matter Expert in billing systems, including an understanding of regulatory requirements and industry best practices.
Technical Skills: Strong knowledge of billing system workflows and integration with other systems (e.g.
Hosting Products, CRM).
A working knowledge of system architecture, including integrations and dependencies, to facilitate effective collaboration with technical teams.
Understanding of domain and test driven design would be advantageous.
Proficiency in agile methodologies (Scrum, Kanban) and product management tools (e.g., Jira).
Education: A degree in Business, Computer Science, Finance or a related field would be a plus.
Certifications like Certified Scrum Product Owner (CSPO) or SAFe Product Owner/Product Manager are a plus.
