Job DescriptionWe are looking for a Senior Product Director to join the team. Jellyfish currently offers over 250 courses covering a range of topics. These include areas such as Generative AI, data & analytics, social media, cloud technology, digital media and much more. The role is based in South Africa and will be taking the lead on the strategic development of our product range that is being sold and delivered to audiences across the globe.
As a Product Director, you will need to have a strong awareness of the competitive landscape, and a keen eye for which topics are trending, which are hot & which we should invest in building. You will work closely with cross-functional teams including subject matter experts, instructional designers & creatives to create and refine our training programs. You will be key in ensuring that our products not only meet customer expectations but also set us apart as industry leaders in the digital education space.
Key Responsibilities: Product Strategy & VisionDefine and execute the product vision and development roadmap for our training offerings.Identify emerging trends to guide new product development.Work closely with our internal SMEs & resource management team to ensure we are maximizing our internal resources towards growing our product range.Foster new relationships with external resources to help develop and evolve new products and partnerships.Develop and maintain a product roadmap to support business goals.Digital Training Product DevelopmentLead the creation and continuous improvement of training products, from ideation through to delivery.Oversee the development of high-quality courses in areas such as Generative AI, social media marketing, data analytics, and a wide range of other industry-related topics.Put processes in place to ensure content relevance, accuracy, and quality is maintained, that courses and sales assets are up-to-date, etc.Take ownership for the quality and consistency of learning experiences provided across the team. This includes the final QA on courseware, accuracy of speaker notes and QA on instructor delivery.Customer-Centric FocusLeverage customer feedback to shape product enhancements & address customer pain points.Attend and analyze instructor performance, providing constructive feedback to enhance the end-user experience.Partner with sales and marketing teams to ensure training products align with customer needs and provide the best possible value proposition.Monitor and analyze feedback for product improvements and understanding evolving customer requirements.Leadership & Team CollaborationNo direct reports at the start (as a Senior Director level role, this may be subject to change and be within the scope of this role).Mentor a team of SMEs, instructional designers, and technology specialists to ensure quality products are created.Prioritize resources, initiatives, and projects effectively, ensuring alignment with overall business objectives.Data-Driven Performance ManagementDefine key performance indicators (KPIs) to track product success, including ROI, course revenue, quantity of leads, learner satisfaction, and market adoption.Use data and analytics to continuously monitor product performance and identify areas for optimization.Market AnalysisStay abreast of trends in digital marketing, marketing technology, e-learning, and the broader EdTech space.Conduct competitive analysis to understand the positioning of our products and identify gaps and opportunities.Carry out regular competitor analysis including price comparisons and benchmarking.Input into pricing strategies across various global markets.Budget & Resource ManagementManage the budget for product development and ensure resource allocation is aligned with business priorities.Ensure product initiatives are executed within scope, on time, and within budget.Qualifications Key Requirements: Experience:5+ years of experience in product management, with at least 3 years in a senior role within digital marketing, tech training, or related education technology industries.Proven success in managing the lifecycle of digital learning products, particularly in the areas of digital marketing, technology, or related fields.Skills & Expertise:Strong strategic thinking and ability to manage complex product portfolios.Understanding of the digital marketing landscape (SEO, paid media, social media, analytics, Generative AI, etc.) and technology training needs.Ability to analyze and interpret data to make informed product decisions.Excellent communication, presentation, and stakeholder management skills.Additional Information Join Jellyfish and experience a workplace where we prioritize your growth, celebrate your contributions, and empower you to tailor your work environment to suit your needs.
