Senior Procurement Specialist

Our client in the FMCG space is recruiting for a Procurement Specialist for a fixed term contract based in Cape Town.
Candidates who come from the FMCG industry will be required.
Hybrid 
Relevant degree in Supply Chain/Engineering/Business Administration/Economics or similar field.Postgraduate diploma in procurement is an advantage.Minimum 5 years of experience in a procurement function within the FMCG industry.Proven experience with the Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) Act.Advanced MS Excel proficiency is required.Knowledge of SAP is an advantage.Internal Client Relationship Management Collaborate with local departments to develop procurement plans incorporating business requirements into current and future procurement activities.Create and implement sourcing scenarios/strategies for assigned categories.
Identify, research, evaluate, and negotiate terms for locally addressable spend areas to achieve the best possible conditions.Assist with departmental budget optimization.
Collect and consolidate affiliate spend data as well as product specifications for assigned categories to identify key cost drivers.Supplier Relationship Management Commercially lead new and ongoing local key supplier relationships to ensure satisfactory service standards and contribution sustainability.Build and submit vital reports to assist in the supplier selection process.
Using appropriate Procurement Tools, prepare and conduct RFIs, RFQs, and RFPs.Create, analyze, and consolidate supplier performance reports based on key performance indicators.Identify and propose opportunities for supply base synergy and product portfolio harmonisation based on specifications.Market Intelligence Analyze and evaluate external, local price trends, new product and service offerings, and innovative solutions to find opportunities for optimizing spend/budget or growing business revenue.Run regular reports using Procurement Tools; SAP experience is preferred.Other / Reporting Assist the IMS Manager Procurement in developing local policies, strategies, commercial methodologies, or other materials to optimize the affiliate's technical, quality, service, or reliability standards.Assist in establishing cost-cutting goals and quality standards.Conduct spend analysis to identify cost-cutting opportunities.Compliance, IC / SOX PPs: Ensure all SOX-related controls are carried out on time.Consistently apply company principles and practices.Supplier Screening and AnalysisNegotiationSupplier Relationship Management (SRM)Supplier Performance AssessmentIndustry Market Analysis on ProcurementSpend Demand Analysis, Total Cost of Ownership (TCO)Contract Planning ExecutionMake or Buy/Lease or Buy/Rent or Buy/Outsourcing
