Job OverviewThe Senior Procurement Officer will be responsible for non-stock surface materials procurement within the plant environment. The role is critical in leading strategic sourcing initiatives, managing supplier relationships, and optimizing procurement processes.EducationRequired: Diploma (NQF 6) in Supply Chain Management or Procurement Management.Advantageous: Advanced Diploma or Degree (NQF 7) in Supply Chain Management or Procurement Management.Experience5-10 years in compiling and administering complex, high-value tenders in mining & processing plant environments.3-5 years of strategic sourcing experience (local, international, and low-cost countries).3-5 years of experience with integrated MRP systems and demand planning.SkillsAdvanced knowledge of procurement strategies.Proficiency in MRP and ERP systems.Strong negotiation and contract management skills.Analytical and strategic thinking capabilities.Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.Proficient in Microsoft Office suite and procurement software.Technical CompetenciesTender management.Supplier relationship management.Cost optimization techniques.Demand forecasting.Risk assessment in procurement.Contract negotiation.
