PURPOSE OF ROLELesedi Nuclear Services is seeking an experienced and skilled Process Engineer to join our Industrial Division team. This is a critical role responsible for producing process designs, providing specialist inputs, leading commissioning efforts for projects, and supporting our multi-disciplinary engineering organisation.KEY PERFORMANCE AREASGenerate concept, preliminary and basic front-end process designs including flow sheets, P&IDs, specifications and moreSize, select and specify process equipment like rotating equipment, vessels, tanks, hydraulic systems, heat exchangers, instrumentationDevelop material and service specifications for projectsReview process designs and facilitate HAZOP/FMECA studiesPerform design optimizations, root cause analysis and continuous improvementSupport plant layout reviews for operability and maintainabilityParticipate in FATs, receipt inspections, testing and commissioning activitiesProvide process engineering expertise across the full project lifecycleLead process engineering efforts for project tenders/proposalsSupport contract negotiations with technical inputsQUALIFICATIONBachelor's degree in Chemical EngineeringProfessional Engineering registration with ECSA (advantageous)EXPERIENCEMinimum 10 years of relevant process engineering experienceKNOWLEDGE & SKILLS COMPETENCIESKnowledge:Thorough understanding of process engineering principles and practices for industrial and utility industriesKnowledge of OHS Act, regulations and its applicationFamiliarity with ISO quality management systemsUnderstanding of Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and GAMP 5 guidelinesKnowledge of production processes and plant maintenance requirementsSkills:Proficiency in developing process designs (flow sheets, P&IDs, specifications)Proficiency in heat and mass balancesAbility to size, select and specify process equipment like rotating machinery, vessels, tanks, hydraulics, heat exchangers, instrumentationSkills in hazard analysis techniques like HAZOPs and FMECAsExpertise in performing design optimizations, root cause analysis, continuous improvementHands-on experience in testing, commissioning and plant optimization activitiesCapability to produce clear technical specifications and documentationStrong analytical and problem-solving skillsInnovative thinking and ability to develop creative solutionsBehaviours:Professional and ethical conductExcellent teamwork and ability to collaborate across disciplinesAbility to work in a demanding, client-facing environmentProactive approach and tenacious attitudeStrong communication skills, both written and verbalSystematic thinking and attention to detailCommitment to meeting project timelines and budgetsDemonstrates ownership and accountabilityBe pro-active.Note: Should you not hear from us within 21 days of the closing of the advert, kindly regard your application to have been unsuccessful.
