The Senior Process Engineer will be part of an engineering team providing engineering services and/or field support. Client liaison and maintaining the focus of the project on achieving unprecedented and sustained business results for the client is a large part of the work.
The role will require the engineer to retain a high-level understanding of the project with respect to the environmental, community, business, and financial aspects to guide the client and Project Manager's decisions related to achieving the process objectives of the project.
The role will require the engineer to oversee, guide, and develop solutions in all areas of the process plant across various systems, unit operations, and process equipment. Specific tasks may include the development of process engineering deliverables; solutions to infield problems; and involvement in the execution and commissioning of these solutions.
The Senior Process Engineer may be required to act as Lead Process Engineer on specific assignments, responsible for coordinating the process engineering team, overseeing and guiding the development of process engineering deliverables ensuring they meet the project's scope, are delivered on schedule and budget, and meet Hatch's quality standards. Experience in Concentrator design for various commodities is preferable, such as Gold, Lithium, Nickel, Copper, PGM's, Copper, Lead, Zinc, Mineral Sands amongst others.
Key Responsibilities include: Perform process engineering tasks on Minerals Processing projects, in a variety of commoditiesWhen requested, act as Lead Process Engineer on projects or studiesOperate with full competence and independence in the execution of all design calculations, design criteria, in the compilation and execution of equipment lists and calculations.Develop new criteria/calculations where required, maintaining high levels of accuracy. Provide frequent training, guidance, and supervision to junior colleaguesActively engage with clients to understand project requirementsProcess scope definition and technology selectionDefine the process design criteriaDefine the process block flow diagram and unit operationsCompilation of Process Flow Diagrams, along with associated mass and energy balance calculationsUndertake trade-off studies to resolve optionsIdentify, scope, and manage process test work (on site or laboratory based)Conduct capacity analysis for existing plantsSelect the equipment for projectsCarry out engineering design calculations and equipment sizing calculationsPrepare specifications of process attributes for equipment, through compilation of process datasheets (or process input to general datasheets).Compilation of Process DescriptionDesign of the process control logic adhering to appropriate safety standards, and documentation into Functional DescriptionsDisplay full competence and independence in the compilation of P&IDs and all levels of control philosophies.Ensure process specifications portray the appropriate information and design intent and review of equipment bidsLiaising with other discipline engineers to ensure designs conform to process requirementsContribute to hazard studiesCompile operating cost estimates including estimation of consumables, labor, maintenance materials, and powerProvide input to capital cost estimatesPrepare well-written project reportsPlay a lead role in site commissioning of new equipment and process systemsParticipate in the preparation of proposals and other business development initiatives.Qualifications and Experience: Chemical Engineering, Metallurgical Engineering, or Mineral Processing degree.Minimum of 15 years' experienceExtensive design, commissioning, and/or operational experience of minerals processing equipment (comminution, flotation, DMS, gravity separation, screening, thickening, and filtration)Copper Concentrator experience is highly advantageousExperience in scoping and management of metallurgical test work programs (benchscale, pilot scale, on-site testing)Experience in modeling of minerals processing equipment and systemsStrong client focus.Ability to lead engineering tasks on a project, within the allocated budget and schedule, including mentoring and guidance of junior colleagues and professional interaction with other project disciplinesAbility to manage individuals to attain quality, cost, and schedule objectives.Collaborate on exciting projects to develop innovative solutionsDon't meet every single requirement?
