Job Summary The Senior Pricing Manager will be responsible for developing and implementing Lending pricing strategies and Pricing policy for Relationship Banking and ensure alignment across Absa group. This role involves analysing market trends, costs, and margin factors to determine competitive pricing that meets the company's financial goals while ensuring customer fairness.
Job Description Key Responsibilities Conduct market research and analysis to understand customer behaviour, industry trends, and competitors' pricing models. Manage, develop, and maintain tools for margin optimisation and returns maximisation. Assist in determining pricing strategies that are competitive in line with overall business objectives and maximize profitability. Ensure accuracy in pricing and subsequent returns by verifying inputs with various stakeholders including Product, Treasury, Credit, and Finance. Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure the effectiveness of pricing strategies and regularly report on their performance. Inform short-term and medium-term planning by collaborating with stakeholders across the cluster to ensure realistic volume and margin expectations in the financials. Analyze the impact of pricing decisions on the company's profitability. Identify and develop solutions to improve quality of processes, systems, and services. Develop and maintain monthly and ad-hoc reporting by developing and scoping all relevant reports that will measure the effectiveness of pricing in delivering on volume, margin, and competitiveness objectives. Develop and maintain competitor-pricing analyses by completing benchmarking activities including international pricing trends/activities to ensure global best practice for Absa. Provide relevant pricing input to new product developments by engaging with all parties to ensure congruency with pricing strategy. Provide sound consulting services and recommendations based on customer and client needs, current information, and trends analyses. Develop relevant training materials by compiling the training material and facilitating the training to improve staff awareness and understanding of the pricing concepts, policy, and processes. Provide Ad-Hoc and frequency specific implementation of pricing changes in support of agreed pricing strategy/design. Enable and oversee Pricing Desk support to business for non-standard rates and fees by overseeing the consultants and specialists maintain relevant reporting by producing the relevant reports to measure the extent of and impact of non-standard pricing. Leverage pricing data to provide insights on opportunities and threats that exist for relevant stakeholders. Develop forecasts and models that show potential impact of various pricing strategies including their overall impact on margins and profitability. Manage, direct, and provide support as line manager to pricing consultants/specialists in them carrying out their duties. Education and Experience Required Education Honours / Masters' Degree (Finance / Commerce) (minimum NQF level 7).
Knowledge & Skills: 5+ years of experience in pricing, finance, or similar analytical role, required.
Experience in Lending aspect of Banking, preferred.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Excellent negotiation abilities.
Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word) (Expert).
