A boutique product development consulting company focused on strategy and execution is looking to fill the role of Senior Power BI Reports Support Engineer. You will be responsible for investigating the root cause of Power BI report issues, documenting the resolution, and either resolving the problem or working with developers to fix the problem. The candidate must enjoy querying and analysing report data, searching through data models to find data quality or coding issues. Responsibilities: Understand the root cause of business issues and help participate in code optimization, code clean up and new report development. Demonstrate Power BI features for more effective report use. Be the first point of contact for business users experiencing data production issues Investigate and document issues that come in via a support ticketing system Troubleshoot issues, verify business logic and validate source data Document all open tickets daily; attend daily stand up Work with business users and developers to understand the problem Ensure that issues are well documented, communicated to business users and fully resolved Perform debugging to identify the root-cause of issues through expert analysis and problem-solving. Write test queries; write DAX code. Qualifications and Experience: Degree in business commerce, information studies, information technology 5 years of strong hands-on support or development or QA experience in a Power BI environment 3 years experience in data preparation, data modeling, data gateway and data warehousing projects Strong knowledge of DAX, SQL query, stored procedures and SSIS packages Strong understanding of data warehouse and database concepts Experience in analyzing & troubleshooting data Issues, bug fixes, and support cases/ticket handling skills The Reference Number for this position is NG59922 which is a 12-month contract position in Johannesburg offering a salary of R800k up to R1mil CTC salary negotiable based on experience.
