SENIOR PHYSICAL SCIENCE TEACHER AND STEM CO-ORDINATORThe German International School in Cape Town (DSK) is an independent international school catering for learners from Grade 1 to Grade 12. We are a bilingual co-ed school with learners selecting either the German or English stream syllabus for both South African and European University Entrance Qualification. The DSK invites applications from dynamic and experienced educators for the position of Senior Physical Science Teacher and STEM Coordinator. This dual role is ideal for a professional with a proven track record of teaching excellence in Physical Science and a deep understanding of the Independent Examinations Board (IEB) standards.
The key responsibilities for this role include: Planning, preparing and delivering high quality Physical Science lessons aligned with the IEB curriculum.Assessment and evaluation of student progress, providing feedback to ensure continuous improvement.Developing and implementing lesson plans that adhere to the IEB guidelines.Supporting students to help them realize their full potential.Collaboration with teachers to integrate STEM principles into the curricula.Providing support in the designing of STEM units and lessons.Offering content knowledge and expertise in STEM subjects to enhance the quality and effectiveness of teaching.Analysing student performance data to modify curriculum, assessment methods and instructional practices.Fostering a collaborative environment by sharing best practices in STEM education with colleagues.TO BE CONSIDERED FOR THIS POSITION WE REQUIRE: A minimum of a Bachelor's degree in Physical Science with a PGCE or B Education.SACE registration.Extensive experience teaching the IEB Curriculum at High School level.Previous experience in a leadership role for Physical Science in an IEB school is beneficial.Proficient in computer literacy, integrating IT into teaching and learning.Passionate about teaching with a commitment to student success.Excellent communication skills in English.South African citizenship or permanent residency or a valid work permit.A clear criminal clearance.If interested, please send a detailed CV and covering letter to:
