Senior Materials and Pavement EngineerOur esteemed engineering consultancy is in search of a seasoned Senior Materials and Pavement Engineer to join our vibrant team. This pivotal role offers an exciting opportunity for you to apply your extensive expertise in materials investigations, pavement engineering, and contract administration to contribute significantly to the successful delivery of our roads and highways projects. As a key member of our Roads/Highways section, you will undertake a diverse array of tasks, ensuring that our projects meet the highest standards of quality and sustainability. Additionally, this role may entail occasional travel within South Africa or potentially to other African countries, providing you with exposure to diverse projects and challenges.We are committed to the principles of Broad-Based Black Economic Empowerment (B-BBEE) for the advancement of previously disadvantaged individuals.Duties & ResponsibilitiesMaterials Investigations:Coordinate small tenders for survey and soils laboratoriesPlan and execute borehole and centerline surveysConduct general trial pitting and liaise with soils laboratories for analysisConduct visual inspections of gravel and surfaced roadsAssist in pavement and pavement rehabilitation designAnalyze materials results and perform pavement analysisAssist with traffic data collection and subsequent analysisCollaborate in the preparation of thorough tender documentsContract Administration:Administer contracts for various roads and highways projectsEnsure compliance with contractual obligations and industry standardsDesired Experience & QualificationQualifications:Minimum of a BSc or BEng degree in Civil EngineeringProfessional Engineer (Pr Eng) registration is mandatoryA Master's degree in Pavement Engineering will be advantageousPossession of a valid driver's license is essentialExperience Required:Minimum of 10 years' experience in a similar roleDemonstrated track record in developing innovative technical solutionsExperience in guiding and mentoring junior staffPackage & RemunerationMarket Related
