Sanlam Private Wealth is part of the Sanlam Investments Group, a leading investment and wealth management business in South Africa, Sub-Saharan Africa, Australia and Europe.What will make you successful in this role?Performing and reporting on offshore bank and scrip reconciliations with custodian.Liaising with other offshore operations teams, the wider business and third party service providers where necessary to resolve reconciliation breaks.Processing entries to resolve reconciliation breaks.Responding to queries from business regarding cash and scrip reconciliations.Responsible for monitoring the offshore equity scrip reconciliations of custody accounts.Responsible for monitoring reconciliations between SPW's back-office administration systems.All reconciliations and the preparation and delivery of reconciliation statistics for management reporting.Communicating reconciliation breaks and issues that may impact trading and client reporting to other operations divisions and business.Participate in improvement initiatives and projects in the team, business unit and company-wide as required.Update and maintain process documentation (e.g., standard operating procedures, checklists) for reconciliation function.Suggest and implement process enhancements to improve efficiency.Assist and train other team members when required.QualificationTertiary qualification in Business, Finance or Economics.Knowledge and SkillsExtensive Financial Service / Fund Administration experience preferred.Deep understanding of international financial markets with a particular focus on unitized instruments.Detailed understanding of the Private Client business and the stock-broking environment.Personal AttributesSelf-motivated, proactive, taking ownership of problems until they are resolved.Mature person with the sense of responsibility to do after hours.Strong numerical orientation.Highly organized with a high level of customer focus.Accurate and detail oriented.Critical and analytical capability.Ability to perform well under pressure and show maturity, confidence and resilience.Excellent listening, communication and interpersonal skills.Pro-active approach to work, clients, problem solving.Learning agility and curiosity.Assertive.Passionate ownership for results.Core CompetenciesBeing resilient - Contributing independently.Collaborates - Contributing independently.Cultivates innovation - Contributing independently.Customer focus - Contributing independently.Drives results - Contributing independently.Turnaround timeThe shortlisting process will only start once the application due date has been reached.
