To this end, NHS Scotland welcomes applications from all sections of society.Fixed Term / Secondment basis up until 23/06/2025We are looking to recruit a Band 6 Senior Occupational Therapist to our experienced and friendly Community Occupational Therapy Team within the Inverness district.This is an exciting opportunity to work within an established team of Occupational Therapists within our Integrated team focusing on rehabilitation, enablement, home first, and major adaptations. Work is primarily with clients who have physical disabilities, but experience in other areas is beneficial as we provide a comprehensive approach to treatment and goal setting.Skills in prioritisation, flexibility, and delegation are essential, and there is an expectation to provide clinical support to junior staff.You will be expected to act independently to provide a full comprehensive service of assessment, diagnosis, treatment/appropriate management, onward referral, and discharge to a range of patients referred to the service.You will work alongside our existing OT team consisting of Senior Healthcare Support Workers, Occupational Therapy Assistant Practitioners, Registered Occupational Therapists, and Advanced Practice Occupational Therapists. This is an opportunity to work within an established Integrated team in a community-based setting.You will be expected to manage a caseload to provide assessment, rehabilitation, onward referral, and discharge to a range of patients referred to the service. However, as not all service areas will be able to adopt the 37-hour working week immediately from 1 April 2024, you may be required to work up to an additional 30 minutes per week for a temporary period for which you would be paid until the service you are working in changes rosters or working patterns to accommodate the new reduced working week.
