An engineering company in Nelspruit, Mpumalanga is seeking two Senior Mechanical Project Engineers to join their dynamic team.The successful candidates will oversee the design, fabrication, and installation of engineering projects, ensuring high-quality and efficient deliverables.This role demands hands-on expertise, strong project management skills, and deep mechanical engineering knowledge.RequirementsBachelor's degree in mechanical engineering or a related field.Professional Engineer (PrEng) registration. (Advantageous but not a requirement)A minimum of 3 years' experience in mechanical engineering, with a focus on project management.Experience with project management software such as ClickUp, MS Project, or similar.Proven experience in the design and installation of industrial equipment or processing facilities.Knowledge of fabrication processes and materials.Strong knowledge of mechanical design software:Primary Software: SolidWorks; Secondary Software: AutoCAD, Ansys Fluent (CFD), Ansys Rocky (DEM).Excellent project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.Strong problem-solving abilities and a hands-on approach to engineering challenges.Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.Willingness to travel to Local and International project sites as needed.ResponsibilitiesProject Management:Lead mechanical engineering projects from conception to completion, including design and procurement.Develop and maintain detailed project schedules, ensuring all milestones are met within the stipulated timelines and budget.Coordinate with cross-functional teams including design, fabrication, procurement, and site installation teams to ensure seamless project execution.Conduct regular project reviews to assess progress, identify risks, and implement mitigation strategies.Design and Engineering:Develop detailed mechanical designs and specifications for macadamia processing equipment and facilities.Perform engineering calculations, simulations, and analysis to validate design choices.Ensure all designs comply with relevant industry standards, codes, and regulations.Collaborate with the design team to create detailed drawings and documentation for manufacturing and installation.Proven experience with the following is necessary:Sheet Metal Design; Structural Design; General Factory/Plant Layout Drawings.Proven experience within the following would be advantageous:Machine Design; Finite Element Analysis (FEA); Computational Fluid Analysis (CFD); Discrete Element Modelling (DEM – Rocky).Fabrication Oversight:Oversee the fabrication process, ensuring that all components meet design specifications and quality standards.Work closely with the manufacturing team to address any technical challenges that arise during fabrication.Inspect and approve finished products before they are delivered to the installation site.Site Installation and Commissioning:Collaborate with installation teams to manage on-site installation activities, ensuring that all mechanical systems are installed correctly and safely.Coordinate with site installers to troubleshoot any issues that arise during installation.Conduct commissioning activities to verify the performance of installed systems and ensure they meet project requirements.Documentation and Reporting:Prepare and maintain comprehensive project documentation, including design reports, progress reports, and final project handover documents.Ensure accurate and timely reporting of project status to senior management and stakeholders.Implement and adhere to SOPs, including daily site reports and accurate cost tracking.Client Interaction:Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, providing regular updates on project status and addressing any concerns.Work closely with clients to understand their requirements and ensure that the project outcomes align with their expectations.Desired SkillsSolidWorksAutoCADAnsys Fluent (CFD)Ansys Rocky (DEM)
