Your Role: We are on the lookout for an experienced talented and motivated Mechanical Design Engineer to be part of our dynamic mechanical engineering team!
In this role, you'll design critical mechanical equipment for process plants.
You'll collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams, gaining invaluable exposure to industry standards and specifications while being mentored by experienced engineers.
Key Responsibilities: Play the lead design engineer role for assigned projects.
Engage in mentorship activities, when required, in assisting younger design engineers.
Design and develop mechanical equipment for process plants, including piping and pressure vessels.
Engage in all phases of mechanical projects: planning, concept design, detailed design, manufacturing, quality control, installation, commissioning, and handover.
Create detailed 3D concepts and models, reviewing process plant layouts for optimization.
Read and interpret process and instrumentation diagrams accurately.
Solve complex engineering problems using advanced analysis software.
Review and ensure compliance of pressure equipment and piping fabrication packs.
Prepare specifications for piping and valves and provide mechanical inputs for datasheets.
Collaborate on multi-disciplinary projects to achieve effective design integration.
Continuously expand your knowledge of industry-specific design standards and specifications.
What We're Looking For: Essential Qualifications & Experience: Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering.
Minimum of 12 to 15 years of experience in mechanical design.
Proficiency in 3D design and engineering software such as Autodesk Inventor and Plant 3D.
Familiarity with piping and pressure vessel design software (e.g., CAEPIPE, CAESAR, PV-Elite) is a plus.
Knowledge of pressure equipment design codes (ASME, SANS, EN) and mechanical design principles.
