Job DescriptionTo assist the Supervisor/ Laboratory Manager with all materials testing tasks, whether it's on site or in the commercial laboratory.
To clean all equipment on a regular basis.
To complete materials testing in all laboratory division, including soils, asphalt, seals, concrete, aggregate with bench calculation as and when required for testing.
The Materials Tester will ensure that the laboratory is clean at all times and will carry out all work-related instructions from the technicians/supervisors or authorized personnel.A Senior Materials Tester is responsible to supervise and/or carry out and take responsibility of testing for all tests that the employee is deemed competent for strictly in accordance to prescribed methods.A Senior Materials Tester is responsible for cleaning up the site or workshop after task is completed or at the end of the day which every comes first, where the job was carried out and will make sure its free off all consumables used to perform the job (masking tape, tins).A Senior Materials Tester is responsible to adhere to all quality and safety requirements of the SGS management system.A Senior Materials Tester is responsible to orally report any deviations, irregularities and non-conformances.A Senior Materials Tester is responsible to perform any other reasonable tasks as assigned by the authorized site supervisor/laboratory manager and regional manager.
A Senior Materials Tester is responsible to perform all field and laboratory work including sampling, calculations and performing test methods accurately.Complete timesheets accurately on a daily basis.Ensure discipline within his/her assigned department.QualificationsGrade 12 / NQF4 or an additional three years relevant experience for each year of schooling below grade 12Knowledge, skills and experience sufficient to be recognized as a qualification through - Recognition of Prior Learning.Language: Proficiency in English (Read, write, speak)Computer literacy in Word, Excel, Outlook · Must be competent and comfortable with the SANS and THM 1 test methods.
