Senior Material Testers (Civil Engineering Site Lab)

SGS Matrocast is seeking to fill the position of Senior Material Testers on various sites in the Western Cape.
The ideal candidate for this position will be a person who is reliable, honest and hardworking, and is competent in all civil engineering laboratory tests with an appetite to grow within the industry.
Job Description

Sampling and preparation in all departments.
Administration (Report Writing).
Fieldwork (densities, layer/stockpile sampling, manufacture and handle concrete cubes, DCP, Ring and Ball test (road surfaces), Sand Patch, On Site Viscosity tests, Sampling of Asphalt and Bitumen).
Competent and qualified to do all tests in all laboratory divisions including soils, asphalt, seals, concrete / aggregate.
Do all calculations in full related to the tests mentioned above.
Control laboratory activities such as quality control under supervision.
Physically able and willing to work with, move and pick up samples as and when required.
Adhere to all quality and safety requirements of the SGS management system.
Perform any other reasonable tasks as assigned by the authorized site supervisor/laboratory manager and regional manager.
Ensure discipline within his/her assigned department.

Qualifications

Grade 12 / NQF4 or an additional three years relevant experience for each year of schooling below grade 12.
Knowledge, skills and experience sufficient to be recognized as a qualification through Recognition of Prior Learning.
Drivers License for Field Work positions.
