Senior Manager - Reporting

We are recruiting for a leading client in the financial services industry.You will have overall responsibility for delivering a successful Group audit and related financial statements, as well as working with the wider team to ensure external reporting requirements across all subsidiaries are met.
This role will also be tasked with leading an effective team, including a direct report.
You will play an instrumental role in helping the finance leadership drive a step-change in the quality and timelines of all deliverables, with significant exposure to the Group FC, CFO and other senior management.Duties And Responsibilities (Include But Are Not Limited To)Overall responsibility to the GFM for delivering a successful Group and local statutory audits including the related Group financial statements and being the key point of contact with the external audit team.Project manage internal teams to ensure that data requested is received in accordance with timetables.Ownership of the Group consolidation and related internal and external reporting on a monthly, quarterly and annual basisSupport the GFC in the development and implementation of best-in-class reporting practices for a fast-growing businessWork closely with the FP&A and accounting teams to develop Group reporting projects and drive improvements in group reporting capabilitiesTechnical expert who should lead the Group on accounting issues, new accounting developments and be a reference for questions from divisional finance teamsOverall responsibility for ensuring ongoing compliance with IFRS including drafting accounting policy notes and guidanceWork with internal business systems team and corporate accounting to design and implement an effective, integrated Group reporting toolConsulting with the finance team on the design and implementation of effective controls across the Group's processes to adhere to internationally accepted standards and regulationsSubmission of various other statutory or regulatory obligations for Group entitiesInvolvement in various finance improvement projects, including system implementations, month end process efficiencies, new market expansion and business maturity workstreamsAdditional Skills & AttributesOpen, transparent, and adaptable with previous mixed experience of blue-chip and high growth entrepreneurial organisations with the ability to implement best practice, drive change and thrive within less structured and fast-changing environments.Passionate, hardworking and with a real eye for detail, must enjoy working in a hands-on environment with a small, tight-knit team.Ideally, this person has also worked in a world-class, well-run organisation so they have a vision as well as practical experience for how an effective 'world-class' organisation works and communicates.Demonstrable passion for the company's purpose and enjoys working in a fast-paced, informal but highly ambitious company.Hands-on self-starter, who knows what to do without being told, with a no-nonsense 'get it done attitude', quickly diagnosing issues, proposing and executing solutions in a short timeframe.Ability to work under pressure, commercial acumen, and capable of linking the role to shareholder value creation / profitability.Keen to be part of a multicultural organisation that is committed to excellence, inclusion, diversity, community development and the environmentKey RequirementsCA(SA) or equivalent qualificationProven track record in the reporting and technical accounting fields, with experience from a strong training background with Big 4 (or another leading audit firm), with the ability to combine this with an entrepreneurial mind-setA minimum of 3+ years post CA qualificationExperience of multi-national and multi-currency Group structures, preferably across the African continent, UK and/or other Holdco territoriesExperience reporting in highly regulated or listed company environmentStrong technical accounting background with the proven ability to draft accounting policy guidance and ensure ongoing IFRS complianceProven track record in building strong controls best practice across business processesAdvanced time management and organisational skillsDeveloped team management skills to ensure an engaged, high functioning teamAdvanced MS Office skills
