It is in our leadership and managerial ethos to meaningfully partner with our employees, customers and stakeholders with a vision to realise our shared goals.The Senior Manager – Platform Architectwill be accountable to achieve the following objectives:Oversee the development and implementation of strategy/roadmap for platform architecture in software CoE, prioritizing the key priorities for short-, medium-, and long-term goals based on business objectives, emerging technologies, and industry trends in close collaboration with key business stakeholdersLead the design and development of software solutions/ platforms ensuring they meet MTN's digital transformation goals and objectives Provide technical guidance, set clear goals and expectations and conduct regular performance evaluationsAs a chapter lead collaborate and work closely with other chapter leads to align on the overall software CEO strategy, drive synergies and achieve engineering excellenceImplement or Guide teams to design scalable architectures, implement load balancing techniques, optimizing resource utilization, while considering factors such as caching, data partitioning, and horizontal scalingLead the implementation of robust security measures and vulnerability assessments across Software CoE to address any vulnerabilities (SQL injection, XSS, CSRF) and stay protected in close collaboration with the cybersecurity teamsWork closely with cross functional teams such as, product management, engineering, operations etc. to understand the requirements and drive the implementation of platform features, enhancement and integrations. Foster strong relationships to ensure alignment and successful platform/solutions deliveryManage and address performance bottlenecks and scalability challenges within architecture domain, optimizing performance using tools like Vtune, PVS-Studio etc. and anticipate near-future scalability needsDrive the development teams to ensure adherence to architectural principles , coding standards and quality assurance practicesDrive the enforcement of governance frameworks (e.g. , TOGOF, GDPR, HIPAA), standards and guidelines for Architecture domain ensuring adoption of best practices, processes, methodologies and tools across the MTN value chainDevelop architecture domain related articles for leading software journals and consulting surveys to increase MTN's brand visibilityOversee and maintain relevant technical documentation, including architectural diagrams, design specifications and standard operating procedures (SOPs) across Software CoECollaborate with Software CoE Lead to present new architecture design concepts, progress updates and recommendations effectively to senior management, technical and non-technical stakeholdersOversee the adoption of industry best practices, continuous integration/continuous deployment (CI/CD), DevOps methodologies (Docker) and Testing Methodologies (Jest) within the Software CoEReview the overall architecture domain performance (including corrective actions, if necessary, deliver progress and provide reports to Software CoE Lead and other relevant stakeholdersAs a Chapter Lead of the Architecture domain, oversee the exchange of best practices among squads and motivate members for upskilling pertaining to best practices for platform architecture and latest emerging technologyEducation:Bachelor's degree in Computer Science/Information Technology/Electronics and CommunicationPost graduate degree in Computer Science /Networks and /or equivalent professional qualification (Preferred)Experience:7+ years of relevant working experience5-7 years of experience in either as a full stack developer or as a frontend/backend developerExperience in emerging telecom-based software technology (Preferred to have)Expertise in software development methodologies, design patterns, and best practicesExperience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud) is a plusSkills:Proficiency in entire Java technology stack backed by multiple projects and visible accomplishmentsSolid understanding of entire Software Configuration Management (Gilt) and Governance Framework (TOGOF, GDPR etc.)Strong knowledge of telecom systems, protocols, and industry standards (Preferred)Solid understanding of web technologies ((HTML,CSS), Testing Frameworks (Jest), APIs and web servicesDetailed knowledge of database management systems, SQL, MongoDB, SQLite databasesCertification in Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) is preferableWe are a purpose and value-led organization.At MTN, we believe that understanding our people's needs and aspirations is key to creating experiences that delight you at work,everyday.
