The Opportunity: Roche Diagnostics is seeking a dynamic Senior Manager for Manufacturing, Sciences, and Technology (MSAT) based in Cape Town. The successful candidate will ensure product reliability and stability, maintaining the site's Right to Operate, and enabling manufacturing excellence through technical support. Leading a high-performing team, you will oversee key departments, set strategic goals, foster a culture of continuous improvement, and collaborate globally to drive innovation and operational efficiency.
Key Challenges: Leadership & Team Management:Leading four key departments: Validation & Qualification, Scientific Engineering, Project Portfolio & Program Management, and Investigation and Product Care.Creating a strong team spirit with high motivation and effective communication.Motivating and influencing employees towards shared achievements and change processes.Strategy & Operations:Setting strategies for monitoring, optimizing, and validating production operations.Anticipating and resolving production issues collaboratively with Product Development and Manufacturing teams.Establishing and maintaining strategic goals for the MSAT organization.Cross-functional Collaboration:Driving collaboration across Operations sites and networks for cross-functional planning and decision-making.Partnering with global teams to share and adopt best practices across the network.Continuous Improvement & Compliance:Promoting a lean leadership approach and fostering a continuous improvement mindset.Owning and improving the validation program for equipment, processes, and cleaning to ensure compliance.Implementing and maintaining production automation platforms cost-effectively.Innovation & Digitalization:Driving digitalization and fostering a data-driven organization within Sequencing Operations.Ensuring timely and high-quality product launches and transfers through strategic partnerships.Regulatory & Compliance Oversight:Ensuring production conforms to license requirements, cGMPs, and Health Authority expectations.Representing the state of compliance during inspections and audits.Project Management:Driving process and product improvements for cost, supply, quality, and compliance enhancement.Overseeing the Qualification and Maintenance program for all assets and infrastructure in Cape Town Operations.These challenges provide a dynamic and rewarding opportunity for those eager to lead and innovate within the Roche Diagnostics manufacturing domain.
Who You Are as our Ideal Candidate: You have completed a University degree in a Health Sciences related field.You have at least 10 years related business experience in manufacturing, engineering, quality and/or vendor management and you have a demonstrated track record and ability to develop and lead/direct a high-performing team of professionals by demonstrating servant leadership.Other Requirements: You should possess strong collaboration, influence management, decision-making, and leadership skills with a demonstrated drive for results. You have excellent interpersonal skills to effectively manage cross-functional, cross-enterprise, and cross-cultural teams across multiple locations. A comprehensive understanding of diagnostic/biopharma manufacturing operations, quality systems, and vendor management practices is essential.
